Absalom, Absalom!

This is a difficult book with a complex structure; but if you love a challenge, Absalom, Absalom! will reward you handsomely.  William Faulkner created the fictional world of Yoknapatawpha County, Mississippi, the setting of several of his novels and short stories, including Absalom, Absalom!.  It’s here that you’ll get a taste of the legacy of the antebellum South…honor, heritage, the burden of the past, the Civil War, race, gender and class.  It’s the complicated story of the rise and fall of Thomas Sutpin and his dynasty; and through the story of this man, lies an allegory of the Old South.  Absalom, Absalom! is a masterpiece.

That sounds like an interesting one Lori! Good for you for getting through it 🙂

FYI – I’ve just linked to you in my blog post for today. Hope you don’t mind.

Thank you, Danielle. I’m honored to be part of one of your posts. I’m also glad that you stopped by again because I am now using Google Reader and I hadn’t subscribed to your feed…which is terrible because your blog is awesome! All fixed now.

You always make every book sound so interesting!

I love that vase! I keep thinking I’ve found a favorite, and then you come up with a new one!

I only posted about this book because it’s a favorite. It’s a tough one, so I don’t think I’d ever recommend it to anyone unless they were really up for a challenge…Cliff Notes help too. This is my favorite vase. I was actually pleased with how this turned out. Many of the other projects, not so much.

Your vases are fabulous!!! How do you adhere the yarn? Do you use a medium of some sort? I’m so happy to have found another great blog for AEDM! This is my first year and I’m having a great time! HuGGs!

    • lori says:

Thank you, Debi. This is my first year with AEDM too. I adhered the yarn on the vases using Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue. I found that it’s best to use light to medium colors because the dark colors will show some of the dried glue.

The vase is brilliant. The felt flower is perfect as an adornment.
