Betty Crocker’s Boys and Girls Cook Book

Posted by lori . 3 Comments

With the kids out of school, all my books in June are some of my favorite children’s books.

My readers who know me personally have either fainted or are looking at the URL to see if they are at the right website.  Why?  Because they never thought a cook book or the word “kitchen” would appear on my blog.  This was my first cook book.  I remember looking at this book a lot, and my mom even let me make my first “family” supper from it…Bunny Salad and Mad Hatter Meatballs.  The cooking bug just never took hold.

I remember that cookbook from when I was little! I’m not that fond of cooking, but my husband is and he does most of ours. I grew up having to cook for me, my sister and my dad. My dad only liked what he liked, and I never really got to experiment with it. I think if I had, I’d feel differently about it today. What I do love is baking! It feels like another form of creativity to me, and as long as I don’t have to rush to get something done I really enjoy it!

I forgot about you being a baker, but now I’m remembering some pretty cute cupcakes that have been in your pictures.

  • My mom bought that cookbook at a garage sale when I was young, and apparently I would help her make things with it. When Shari and I got married she gave us a new copy she had found as a wedding gift.
