Every Day Ugly – Part 3
.
Every month, I’m looking around at all the things I use the most, to make sure those are my “best” things. This series was inspired by my friend, Amy, who noticed that some of the ickiest things she owned were the things she used the most. She wanted to change that to make sure that her every day life was filled with beautiful, functional things. This inspired me to take a look around and make sure that I wasn’t saving “the best” for days that rarely come.
This month, I upgraded my work shoes.
Old Work Shoes – Functional
About six months ago, I took a new position at work. I wear a uniform and have to have non-slip shoes. To start, I purchased an inexpensive pair of shoes that have worked fine, but they don’t offer much support and they’re pretty boring. Several gals wear Dansko shoes and had great things to say about them, so I took the plunge and bought myself a pair.
New Work Shoes – Functional & Pretty
They offer great support, plus they’re jazzy. They probably look grey in the picture, but they’re a lovely lilac with a little sheen.
Snazzy Work Feet
I’ll keep my old work shoes for days when I might be doing messy work, but my new shoes add a little personality and pizzazz to my uniform.
I do an “Every Day Ugly” post on the second Wednesday of every month. I would love to have you join me. If you have some horrible thing that you make beautiful, send me a picture or pictures and tell me about it at whatremainsnow@gmail.com.
HER ugly stuff stays ugly.

Loving the snazzy shoes.
LOVE the new walking shoes!!! Very pretty!
Neat idea! I really need to look for a nicer looking purse. I don’t think of it as a fashion accessory, as I should. It’s strictly utilitarian and very ratty.
Maybe a nice red one? 🙂
My next purse is going to be exactly that…a red one.
Very nice shoes. Always hear great things about Dansko, but with very long and super skinny feet, fashionable AND comfy shoes are very hard for this lady to come by:(
When i worked at the hospital, it was always the quest for cute and comfy. Dansko was a favorite of many. I love the color of those shoes! You will feel happy everyday wearing them.
Very snazzy! They are much more glamerous than the old ones 🙂

Wow! Now yous should paints your old shoes!!! Owls?
Ooooooo! I love those lilac shoes! Those are fantastic! I wonder if Danskos come in pink…
Danskos do come in pink! They have so many neat colors and patterns. I’ve already started to contemplate my next pair.
I have become a true believer in Danskos….after having lots of foot problems, I’ve found them to be perfect for me. I just saw some new patterns that have come out that left me drooling 😀
Wow, those are NICE – and such a great colour, too! Sadly, I don’t think they’re sold in the UK, because they look as if they’re made on a wide last, too. Might actually fit me!
Ooo lilac 🙂 what a fashionista! I love shoes that are fat and functional. My fave ones look like crocs, duck-billed (but not crocs because I find plastic too hard to wear).
