April 23
In My Studio – April 23
.
This past week, I continued with “button” projects for April’s “Try This” posts. Antique buttons were the focus.
As a tiny bouquet.
In a dish.
As part of a picture.
I spent a fun evening with my card club gals, and we made these two cards.
One inspired by a card on Mary Fish’s website, Stampin’ Pretty.
One that our Stampin’ Up demonstrator, Char, created.
In my How to Paint an Owl E-Course, we learned how to add embellishments to our owls.

Those antique buttons are lovely. It’s a pity they don’t put the same workmanship into things these days.

Oh, I agree with Lynne! I look through some of the antique buttons that we’ve gathered over the years and they were tiny works of art. You’ve really done some beautiful things with them!
So many ideas with simple buttons and I really like the cards you all made, very pretty! Thank you so much for dropping by my blog – been a lazy bum for a month, just realised that. Hope to be more diligent, for the sake of my dogs and hamster…lol! Have a nice day…^_^
the cards are adorable, love them
Aww…every single one of those pictures made me smile. And if I got a card like that in the mail, I’d put a frame around it and hang it up!

I am in love with the buttons. I keep wanting to go to the antique store to see if I find any, but haven’t made it yet.
The cards are beautiful!
Those antique buttons really are works of art on their own! I love that you are finding ways to showcase them. Actually, some of them look good enough to eat!

What an interesting way to use old buttons! I’m glad I got to see how the owls turned out too. I like the one on the bottom left. It looks like an owlet.
Thanks for sharing our anniversary with us! It turned out great. I have lots of pics of the batizado up, but NONE of me in action lol. That would be too funny 🙂
