In My Studio – February 25
.
Here’s what’s going on in my studio…
Last week, I mentioned that I put together a proposal to teach a fabric flower class online. Thank you for all your well wishes. I am so happy to tell you that my proposal was accepted and now, I’ll start to put together the class! I’m looking forward to the challenge, and it will be a challenge particularly because I’ll need to learn to shoot the video. Fortunately, there’s a lot of information out there to help me.
This Week’s Inspiration
In 2013, I’m doing Inspiration Mondays and Results Thursdays. Every Monday, I’ll post a painting “inspiration†and then on Thursdays, I’ll post how I’m interpreting that inspiration.
Last week’s inspiration was ICE. This is the girl that came out of that inspiration…
This week’s inspiration is the 1940’s.
Now a special request…I would love for March’s “inspirations” to come from you. Do you have an idea for me? If so, please leave a comment with your inspiration idea. It can be a word, a story, an idea, a time period, a book, a song…whatever you can think of.
Can you make a cat or a dog??? With fabric or paint??? I would like to see a thing done with,, with one or animals!!!
Those cats are starting so slow up some!!!! It is now every-other night they are keeping me up all night!!!!!! Fun fun fun!!!!
I am so pleased for you Lori, I know your class will be brilliant – just wish I could be there.
Can I say, Spring flowers for my March inspiration words?

So pleased you are going to do the flower class.
I’d like to suggest Love as the word for March. It’s Mothers Day and my mum’s birthday in March. I will always love my mum, even though due to dementia she doesn’t know me anymore.
The flowers are really cute. Congrats on getting to teach the class. I follow another blog where the author just opened an Etsy shop that makes cute little quilted fabric flowers for dog’s collars among other things. They are so beautiful! It’s called “Little Bow Pup”.
What a great Etsy shop!
Congratulations! I am sure you will do an amazing job!
Inspiration “dog lover”. Doesn’t need to show an actual dog 🙂
Or “what if Freedom was a girl?”
You could do the cutest outfit like her coat colors and try to capture her personality.
And I love Little Red Riding hood with her red coat.
Congrats!

When I think of inpsiration I think of nature…the woods…trillium in the spring…my happy place 🙂
Yes! I would LOVE an inspiration to be from your school days. I still remember all the marvellous stories you told us 😀
Wow! Congrats on the class approval! Online? What a challenge and look forward to hearing how it goes. Good luck – though I don’t think you’ll need luck! 😉
😀 Keep us posted on the class…may have to sign up (in all my spare time!). Hmmmm, for one of your March inspirations I will suggest: water.
I didn’t say anything about your online class!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If this is something you really wanted,, Congrats!!!! It would scare me to death!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!
Congrats on the class! I too think of nature as an inspiration but I haven’t followed you for long enough to know if this is a good inspiration for your purposes! I love the painting.
Hey that’s so neat! I know you’ll love doing a class, and do a great job of it. Inspiration….how about seashells? They always make me feel happy and peaceful.
Well done Lori I bet it will be a super class!!!!! so pleased for you.
Loving the hound jokes LOL
Love Sue and the Taylor hounds xxxx
Woof! Woof! Cool! Keep us posted. Mom loves to make flowers too. She made tons last year as an accessory to the dog cotton collars she makes. She uses mostly her scrap fabric. making flowers is a good mind therapy. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
