In My Studio – February 6
.
This week, I learned how to paint my first “faces” taking the How to Paint a Girl E-course. I can’t say that I’m satisfied with them. I think I’ll do a little more fiddling.
I also finished my first project for the 2012 Creative Color Challenge. January’s color was Tangerine Tango. My plan is to create a yarn vase each month, using the challenge colors.

I decided to start anew, to strip away what I had been taught,

I like your girls!
You did an incredible job! Faces are so difficult …
I think the faces you’ve done are fantastic, but I also recognize that we are always our own worst critics! You may look at them later and like them better than you did initially. That happens to me with my photographs sometimes.
I sure love your color palate and the quote is absolutely perfect!
Your pal, Pip & mom
What a gorgeous vase.
Thank you for your comment about Rufus.
I think your faces are great! I love the last one (blonde) with the fun background.
Oh, and the tangerine colour palette is fabulous… xoxo
Your faces are fabulous! The eyes on the last one with yellow hair make it my favorite!
There is nothing wrong with your faces. Faces are very hard to paint and you did a good job at them. Just keep practising and their expressions will grow.
Love your vase. They look like fun to make and I like the idea of starting with a color pallet and stick with it.
