In My Studio – May 6
.
Here’s what’s been happening in my studio…
I’m taking the next several weeks to finish up an old project…four mini quilts and four matching dolls. This week, I finished up The Seedy Lady mini quilt.
This Week’s Inspiration
In 2013, I’m doing Inspiration Mondays and Results Thursdays. Every Monday, I’ll post a painting “inspiration†and then on Thursdays, I’ll post how I’m interpreting that inspiration.
Last week’s (and this week’s) inspiration comes from Kirsten of Peaceful dog…SEASHELLS. Here’s how far along I am.
I’m in a bit of a painting slump. Hopefully I’ll get more done this week.
Woof! Woof! Great! You do embroidery too. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Hope you get back to your painting soon.
Mommy is crazy for the embroidery! It is beautiful.

Do you use a mini quilt for anything? It looks lovely enough to display on a wall:) The girl is going to be interesting, she’s shaping up well.
That’s the only thing I can think of. You could probably use it like a doily too. They’re sort of weird little things.
OMCs you are a multi-layered multi-talented friend. We did not know you quilted too! We caught up from earlier recent post. Seedy lady is and her quilt are both beautiful. I love the fabric for the quilt and your embroidery is very delicate and pretty.
Is this the first one you have featured?
Hugs to you and the hounds

I finished Spicy Lady a long time ago. Now I want to finish up Seedy Lady, Snowy Lady and Sunny Lady. I probably won’t do anything with them other than save them for my daughter, but they remind me of the “country crafts” days.
Oh what a cute little quilt! Your painting looks like it’s coming along nicely. I get in slumps with my writing sometimes too.
Love love!!
I like your mini-quilt! The colors are so nice. Hope you are having a good day!
Your embroidery work is just beautiful. Mom says she used to do a bit of that years ago, but her eyesight isn’t good enough now for all those teensy weensy stitches. We can’t wait to see more.
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
I’m with you on this. I can’t do cross-stitch and embroidery like I used to. Even with my glasses, I can’t see that well.
I cannot wait to see the doll that goes with that quilt! Your stitching is so perfectly detailed!
I find that if I paint when I don’t want to, (eg I have a commission) I end up repainting.
What I would like is being able to paint when I feel like it but have other chores.
I forgot to say how gorgeous the embroidery is!
