Love This – Downton Abbey
.
Have you ever watched a show and thought everything was perfect…the actors and actresses chosen for the roles, the characters, the story, the period, the cinematography, the locations, the costumes…everything? That’s the way I feel about Downton Abbey. Downton Abbey is a British television period drama that aired in the US on PBS Masterpiece Classic. The series is set on the fictional estate of Downton Abbey in North Yorkshire and begins with news of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. Downton Abbey is the home of the Earl and Countess of Grantham and their three daughters. Season One covers the years 1912-1914 and Season Two covers the years 1916-1919. Downton Abbey beautifully captures the transition between the 19th and 20th centuries. If you love Masterpiece Theatre-ish things, I encourage you to checkout Downton Abbey.
Daily Inspiration
History with its flickering lamp stumbles along the trail of the past, trying to reconstruct its scenes, to revive its echoes, and kindle with pale gleams the passion of former days.

Thanks for the info on the show. I hadn’t heard of it. Of course, I don’t get out much…HEE HEE
pawhugs, Max
I love Downton. Looking forward to the next series.
Love the Churchill quote! Will have to check out the show (especially as I’m such an anglophile!)
It’s probably on cable here. Sounds familiar. I used to live period dramas. These days, they only work for me if they also involve swordplay and epic battles! Terrible eh. Perhaps you can do a fantasy/scifi review one day? x
This sounds like a great series. Being in Canada I don’t know if I can get it on our dish, but I am definitely going to surf around for it as it sounds right up my alley!
Ooooo…my mom has heard of this but I don’t think she’s watched it yet. I’ll have to remind her to put it on The List. Right after “feeding the dogs” and “scritching their heads.”

… and for a bit of related trivia Downton Abbey is actually Highclere Castle in Hampshire. It’s the family home of Lord Canarvon. I believe the current one is the Queen’s racing manager and it was his great Grandfather who discovered Tutunkhamun’s tomb! Deccy x
I would love to visit!
