The Land Of Nod

When you live with greyhounds and a kitty, you live in the Land of Nod.

The Land of Nod

Robert Louis Stevenson

From Breakfast on through all the day
At home among my friends I stay,
But every night I go abroad
Afar into the land of Nod.

All by myself I have to go,
With none to tell me what to do–
All alone beside the streams
And up the mountain-sides of dream.

The strangest things are there for me,
Both things to eat and things to see,
And many frightening sights abroad
Till morning in the land of Nod.

Try as I like to find the way,
I never can get back by day,
Nor can remember plain and clear
The curious music that I hear.

I love it! It’s always been a poem I loved, but the Greyhounds and cat illustrations make it even better! 🙂 Well done!

  • Lovely post. Your house looks so restful. I have to admit I stared and stared at the first picture wondering what kind of dog it was. I should just have started reading! Love the DI picture too.

Omg this one got to me. I remember a very broken Nikki and the first time she exposed her belly. Look at her complete trust and comfort now! She waited for the very best family, and the only one I would have entrusted her with… the kindest people I know 🙂
