Try This – Background 4
.
This month, I’m preparing some backgrounds because I want to paint more of the girls I learned to paint in Juliette Crane’s How To Paint A Girl e-course.
This week, I wanted to try these alcohol inks.
I painted the background with Ceramcoat Trail Tan.
I immediately started to drop drops of the alcohol ink onto the wet canvas.
I used these colors of alcohol inks…Ginger, Caramel and Latte.
I think it is an interesting effect. I’m definitely going to fiddle around with these inks some more.

I like the colours. The pattern actually looks interesting enough to be used for something, not just background. Maybe wrapping paper?
Oh wow! I love that background. It’s another one that I could see hanging up without anything else done to it! 🙂
Mr. Lewis was a wise man!
Very interesting! I like the background.
Thank you for your Purina comments – its great to hear something else they do as a company – I never know you could do that! Awesome feedback.
Also in one of the dog sitting pics the hounds have on their muzzles? just curious to as of why? I see people out in public with them on their greyhounds and I never understand. Its not a law here.
I love the colors of the painting and cant wait to see the finished product! I wish I could paint Fred one day but I lack the painting talent!
We use the muzzles when “friends” come over because when you get a group of greyhounds together and they get to running, sometimes things get competitive and nipping (or worse) can happen. Since greyhounds have thin skin, nips and fights can lead to injuries. The muzzles are a simple fix. They also help to discourage poo eating. A couple of the greyhounds in our group like to indulge if they can (ha).
I love this look. It looks kind of retro! 🙂
