Try This – Background 6
.
I’m gearing up for next month’s Art Every Day Month. I plan to paint one girl a day during the month of November, so I’m preparing my background canvases this month. This week’s background is a redo.
This was one of the paintings I did when I took Juliette Crane’s How to Paint an Owl e-Course. I never felt good about this painting, so I decided to start again.
I painted wide bands of color.
Then sprayed the canvas with water.
I dabbed, sprayed and let it drip down until I had a new background.

I think that will make a very interesting background. Have you spattered any or tried with a sponge – that makes a nice effect too?

I have used a sponge but haven’t done much spattering. I like the spattering effect and you will be seeing that on future backgrounds. Thanks for the suggestions. Love them.
Love the warm colours.

Very interesting. One girl a day is going to be hard to do, isn’t it?
I think it will be a real challenge, but if I have the backgrounds done, that will help a lot. I will do some sketching ahead of time too so I have a bit of a plan.
Love how warm it is!

I really like how your canvas turned out. You must be getting excited about the month of November!
You asked about Bunny’s collar today, and it came from shopmollyd who is on Facebook and also on Etsy. There’s a peacock collar in the Miss Nelly OSU auction that’s going on right now, too.
This background is beautiful and so perfect for fall!
